Sustainable Sneaker Packaging

Everlane's Eco-Friendly Footwear is Packed Into a Plastic-Free Box

When Everlane launched its first-ever sneaker, it introduced the fashion industry to a supremely low-impact sneaker made with sustainable leather and reduced virgin plastic materials—and the product is packaged in sustainable sneaker packaging to support the eco-friendly design. As well as being mindful about all aspects of material sourcing and production, Everlane reimagined the way customers would receive their sustainable sneakers with entirely plastic-free packaging that's also compostable or recyclable.

While the outer portion of the sustainable sneaker packaging takes the form of 100% recycled cardboard, the sneakers are cushioned on the inside of the box with corn-based Green Cell Foam. Importantly, the box makes it easy to see the instructions for properly disposing of the packaging—the foam can go into a home compost bin or it can be dissolved in water.
