Sustainable Surfboard Art Works

The BSI Mini Surfboard from CB2 Features an Eco-Friendly Design

The BSI mini surfboard from home design retailer CB2 is a graphic and eco-friendly surf board that is handcrafted out of recyclable EPS foam and USDA-certified bio epoxy. The sustainable surfboard was created in collaboration with Todd Patterson and Ryan Harris, the founders of LA-based E-Tech Boards and Glassing.

After creating the eco-conscious board, the duo adorned the piece with a bold and graphic design by Chicago-based artist Brett Whitacre. The design is applied with a reverse glass-painting technique and reflects the colours of the sea. An abstracted graphic of arrows is meant to evoke "the freedom of the sport" while recycled materials promote the evolution of eco art.

CB2's Sur Collection features over 30 surf-inspired designs that range from art works to furnishings. The collection is on sale now and will be in stores all summer.
