Nordisk Games Purchased 100% of Supermassive Games

Nordisk Games, a company owned by Nordic media group 'Egmont,' announced that it has acquired 100% of 'Supermassive Games.' Supermassive Games is an independent development studio most known for 'The Dark Pictures' and 'Quarry,' two immersive storytelling games. With this acquisition, Nordisk Games will add Supermassive Games to its expansive portfolio of six game development companies.

Nordisk Games has owned a large, 31.7% stake in the indie developer for approximately five years, but has now decided to purchase the studio out in full. The CEO of Nordisk Games, Mikkel Weider, stated "In acquiring 100% of the studio we’ll be able to increase our support to the team, and most importantly, continue the great working relationship we have with them," showing that the purpose of the acquisition is purely to uplift and support the studio, rather than to takeover its assets.
