Inside-Out Art Galleries

Mary Iverson's Artwork is on Display as a Street Art Gallery

In an ingenious idea, the amazing street art gallery for Mary Iverson is located on the walls of the Marion Street pedestrian overpass in Seattle. As part of a public art project, the 24-panel mural is literally on the walls for the public to see.

The project is called the 'Seattle Art Interruptions' public art project and it received "funding from Seattle Department of Transportation and Seattle Parks and Recreation." The idea is incredibly clever as it places a more classical style of art in a street art gallery that is accessible to anyone who walks by. While graffiti can be brilliantly done, most of what people see is just the public defacing of a building, so having these wonderful pieces is sure to be awe-inspiring to many.
