The STAMP lamp, a product from Outofstock Design released by Danish furniture company Bolia, is all about exploring the interstices between two opposing concepts. Firstly, the lamp juxtaposes shapes in its aesthetic. Secondly, it mixes materials that are both soft and hard, using a felt pressing on top of the white blown glass. The result is a unique and interesting pendant fixture.
In terms of aesthetic, the STAMP lamp takes on the classic conical shape of most lamp shades. However, that triangular form is plain on its own, so Outofstock chose to incorporate the continuous shape of a circle as well. The flat circular piece that rises from the top of the STAMP lamp adds dynamics to the fixture, giving it a different appearance from different angles.
