The 'Stack' Printer Munches Down on Piles of Paper

The 'Stack' printer by industrial designer Mugi Yamamoto chomps down on stack of paper as you print. Yamamoto's printer eats away at vertical piles of paper so that you can refill paper less often and avoid paper jams. Instead of placing paper in a tray, all you have to do is place paper underneath the printer.

Stack is an inkjet printer designed with high-density polyethylene, metal wire and other electrical components. Yamamoto created the concept printer as his diploma project under the guidance of professors Elric Petit and Chris Kabel.

To begin using the printer, all you have to do is form a neat pile of paper and place the printer on top of it. After wirelessly connecting to the printer, you can begin printing.
