The Stackable Sports Pitches for Vacant Lots were Designed by AL_A

These stacked sports pitches make use of a small urban space. Conceived by architecture firm AL_A, the Pitch/Pitch project is a "concept for inner city sites to promote sense of community and healthy living." Based in the UK, the company sees soccer (or football) as an activity that not only brings people together, but also spreads joy.

The series of five stackable soccer fields are proposed to be built on vacant lots and other derelict areas of London, where children can play and adults can enjoy a pick-up game. Imagined as a temporary installation, the stories of sports pitches have a modular design with a light carbon fibre structure. The community service initiative could also house other sports and encourages spectators.
