Topographic Sport Logos

Corrado Grilli Recreates Popular Athletic Brand Emblems Using Google Maps

Corrado Grilli is a talented Italian graphic artist that has recreated several popular sport logos from globally renown athletic brands using Google Maps. The project, entitled 'Branded Cities' showcases the logos recreated as a route from a major city that has a connect the dots aesthetic used in recreating the shapes and forms in the logos.

The illustrations creatively blend topography with sportswear in an illustrative design that makes use of the roads on city maps to create the outline of logos from brands such as Jordan, Supreme and GARCONS PLAY. The logos are recreated by using different pins on a city map to trace out the outline of the logo. Since the logos are recreated using real maps, the Google Maps platform shares how long it would take to drive the route.
