In celebration of the 50th anniversary of first human space flight which took place on April 12, 1961, the Space Wed wedding rings are an out-of-this-world commitment! The fist set of rings were sent to space on May 20th in a suborbital sounding rocket in New Mexico. The secured package containing one set of wedding rings and some gold reached space and returned to Earth safely.
According to If It's Hip It's Here, "The first 10 sets of rings available now will be made from the gold that was flown in space in the same capsule as the first Space Wedding Rings."
Each set comes in special packaging with a serial number, engraved logo, a certificate of the Space Flight and documentation of the rocket launch. In total, 50 sets of the rings will travel to space, and the purchase of these rings truly represents an unearthly bond!
