Southern Recipe Introduces the New 'Krutones' and Pop-At-Home Pork Rinds

Two new products have been added to the Southern Recipe Small Batch range of pork rinds produced by Rudolph Foods. Beginning in early 2023, ‘Buttery Garlic’ and ‘Italian Herb Krutones’ and pop-at-home pork rinds will be available in the US. ‘Krutones’ are promoted as a substitute for conventional croutons and other salad toppings.

The ‘Italian Herb’ flavor is gluten-free and has no carbs, while the ‘Butter and Garlic’ variety just have one gram. Alongside the ‘Krutones,’ Southern Recipe provides consumers with the option to make the pork rinds in a fryer, air fryer, or on a stovetop and flavor them with their own seasonings with its new pop-at-home pork rinds.

"When I got here 20 years ago, one out of 16 Americans ate (pork rinds)," he said. "Now it’s one out of 5. If we can get to one out of 3, I’m pretty sure there’s not enough pigs … We’ve worked hard to educate today’s consumer about pork rinds and demystify the category, overall," said Mark Singleton, VP of sales and marketing at Rudolph Foods.
