The Drunken Dumpling is an eatery located in the East Village of New York City that creatively offers gargantuan soup dumplings that as big as the bowl they are served in. The wontons are fittingly called the XL Xiao Long Bao that come served with straw to drink up the enormous amount of liquid inside.
The XL Xiao Long Bao soup dumplings include a mix of seafood meat located inside a a soft pastry shell that is filled with chicken and vegetable soup broth. Typically soup dumplings are small enough to fit on wonton spoons and can be eaten in one bite, but the XL Xiao Long Bao is much too big to be eaten in the traditional style. Instead the dumpling is the size of a bowl and eaten with a fork and a straw.
