Sony Recycles Advertising Banners Into Jeans

Sony is celebrating the opening of its new store in the flashy Ginza District of Tokyo with a limited release edition of jeans recycled from the advertising banners used in the store’s opening. The Sony Recycle Project JEANS is an idea born in the Sony marketing department, and is part of the company-wide move to be more ecologically friendly and reduce Sony’s global ecological footprint.

Each pair is a one-off creation designed to incorporate a distinct part of the original banner. Only 120 pairs will be made from the limited quantity of material and orders need to be placed directly at the store. If being totally unique is not enough incentive to get in quick, Sony is donating a portion of the sale price to the protection of World Heritage sites.
