Solar Powered Spy Blimps

ISIS Military Recon Platform Watches More Than Football

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is going to great heights with its 'Integrated Sensor Is the Structure (ISIS)' project, a high-altitude reconnaissance and surveillance blimp. Flying through the stratosphere at over six miles in the air, ISIS can avoid both ground-based missiles and air-to-air missiles.

The ISIS high-tech smart blimp's primary similarity to the Goodyear blimp is that it flies. The aircraft is not crewed and will function as an enormous, autonomous, unmanned sensor with years of service potential.
