A new warehouse facility in Dubai is set to earn a LEED Platinum rating largely because of its solar-powered air conditioning. The new ESAB Middle East Office and Warehouse Facility in JAFZA uses a system designed and installed by Scandinavian Cooling. The Solar Cooling solution is based on ClimateWell equipment.
A closed-loop heat pump system uses the sun's warmth in a heat exchange process. Both heating and cooling can be gleaned from the heat exchanger depending upon the tubing configuration. Johan Larsson of ClimateWell sums up the project: "Whatever is cool in Dubai is cool anywhere."
