This is particularly a problem in China and the issue is being targeted here with a vacuum tower. The tower was placed in Beijing square and was designed by 'Studio Roosegaarde.' After 40 days of it sucking up the smog in the air around it, China's Ministry of Environmental Protection announced that the air around the tower is 55 percent cleaner than it was before.
