This Polymer Smart Foam Chair is Like a Kernel of Popcorn You Can Sit in

If you've ever had a nightmare experience trying to put together reasonably priced Swedish furniture by yourself, then this smart foam chair is for you.

Created by Belgian designer Carl de Smet, the smart foam chair will come completely collapsed like a wadded piece of gum when purchase. After being taken out of its package, the chair will essentially inflate itself into the proper shape for you and your guests to park your rear ends. In de Smet's current prototype, the chair requires temperatures of 158 degrees Fahrenheit in order to move into its final shape, but that required temperature is dropping as he progresses through the design stages. Also, the chair uses a form of memory foam, meaning it'll conform nicely to the shape of the person sitting in it.

The fact that the smart foam chair looks like something that would be used as seating for a comic book super villain only makes it that much cooler.
