Saddle Sky Seating

The SkyRider Airplane Seat Makes for Cramped Comfort On Board

In an effort to offer even cheaper flights, the SkyRider airplane seat has been designed. A cramped, saddle-like seat, it is purported not only to provide room for more seats, but also for a possible standing area for shorter flights.

According to USA Today reporter Charisse Jones, passengers will "sit at an angle with no more than 23 inches between their perch and the seat in front of them — a design that could appeal to low-cost airlines that have floated the idea of offering passengers standing-room tickets on short flights." Yet more than that, the SkyRider airplane seat will most likely become its own seating class. As if flying could get more uncomfortable.
