'SkinCoach' Gives a Digital Diagnosis on Hydration, Redness & More

Skincare brand True North developed a skin-scanning machine called My Skin Navigator in 2016 that is used in its medical centers and it is now introducing the SkinCoach app as a more accessible way for consumers to get a diagnosis via their own mobile devices.

With the SkinCoach app, iOS and Android users will be able to get an assessment of their skin based on several factors, including everything from redness and dehydration to dryness and lines. Following a diagnosis, consumers will be able to get product recommendations from True North that will help to improve their conditions, which may range from mild to severe.

The SkinCoach app collects a user’s location, as well as a region's UV index and air quality from the photos shared with the app and even reveals a user's "skin age."
