Minimalist High-Performance Skatewear

Grand's New Line Brings It Back to Skateboarding Basics

At times, it can be beneficial to take a step back and that is exactly what popular New York City-based label Grand is doing with its latest collection of skateboarding basics. Through drawing on the cultural street aesthetic of the urban sport and its communal extension, as well as by utilizing high-quality breathable fabrics, Grand is able to simplify its clothing range, offering consumers a minimalist take on iconic silhouettes.

The skateboarding basics include a series of baggy clothing designs — from hoodies to pants, that exude comfort and will definitely not disappoint in action. To keep up with the minimal sensibility of its collection, Grand uses a restricted color palette that features artistically presented typography as a decorative element.

With his skateboarding basics collection, founder Ben Oleynik wanted to "strip away things that aren’t needed."
