The Haroshi “Pain” Exhibition At StolenSpace Gallery Is Made o

For artists like Haroshi, broken skateboard decks are not simply disposed of, but used to create skateboard art. The Tokyo artist has been resurrecting used decks for several years and integrates them into his art.

The artist's most recent exhibition is entitled 'Pain.' The exhibition uses discarded remains of broken skateboard decks to create wooden sculptures. The differing colors are patched together and stacked from a number of different skateboard decks; the result is stunning. Haroshi creates pieces in the form of skulls, figurative characters, fire hydrants and other imaginative pieces.

The Pain exhibition reveals and examines the effects of emotional pain and how it can be a motivational force when creating art. The exhibition explores this concept through impeccable craftsmanship and detail to question pain and why it exists. This exhibition runs over the course of October and into early november at StolenSpace.
