Video Ad Spoofs British Airways

Silverjet Airlines

Silverjet, the new British all-business-class airline, has done a cheeky take-off of the famous British Airways 'face' advert from 1989. They've remade the iconic British Airways commercial in exactly the same locations, with the same director, Oscar-winner Hugh Hudson.

The script, which involves people coming together to make a smiling face, is almost the same too. The main difference is the size of the cast. The original commercial involved a cast of thousands to show how 'the world's favourite airline' brought millions of people together. The new Silverjet version is all about exclusivity and uses a cast of just 4 to show how 'civilised' air travel can be if you avoid the masses.

Silverjet are leading a new trend away from mass travel towards a 'private jet experience'. Their aircraft are business class throughout, with just 100 flat bed seats, state-of-the-art inflight entertainment and gourmet cuisine. On the ground they've streamlined check-in and security with their own terminal, lounges and security arrangements.

Silverjet started in January 2007 with the London-New York route, and are now expanding with flights to Dubai.
