Sharon Stone for Sale

Believe it or not, Sharon Stone is about to go on sale in a public auction by Heritage Auction Galleries of Dallas, Texas, on September 28, 2008. For real!

Hold your horses though, the Sharon Stone that is going under the hammer is actually a stone, a rare and exotic seven-inch tall group of rainbow-hued Tourmaline crystals found in Brazil ten years ago.

The precious stone was named "Sharon Stone" by the miners who discovered it because of its ‘natural beauty’. Experts consider it to be, "the finest Penfield specimen in existence."

So how much would Sharon Stone cost you? The rare mineral has a pre-sale estimate of $90,000 but would most likely go for much more.

"It’s one of the very few private collections of fine mineral specimens ever to be sold publicly. The collection of over 400 one-of-a-kind pieces of Quartz, Fluorite, Tourmaline, Calcite and other minerals was put together by Daniel Trinchillo Sr. of Forest Hills, New York,’’ said David Herskowitz, Director of Heritage’s Natural History Auctions.
