This self-watering flowerpot was created by the Dutch designer Sander Lorier, who created the product as a response to the plant abandonment that happens when people are busy traveling over the holidays.
The planter is large, bowl-shaped and its ceramic material is painted with pale, pastel colors. It features a cork that, when pulled out, reveals a hole through which owners can pour up to three cups of water. This water slowly seeps through the "permeable, earthenware partition between the reservoir and the potted plant." Once the self-watering flowerpot is empty it tips back so that owners know that they must refill it.
