The Sea Anemone White collection is a series of furniture by designer Pia Maria Raeder. True to its name, the collection's motif of white spike-like rods give its pieces the appearance of sea anemones, or, more aptly, sea urchins.
Sea Anemone White is created through the use of painted beech rods. Though the rods themselves are straight, Raeder combined rods of different lengths to give the pieces in the collection the appearance of undulation. The entire collection uses over 16,000 of these beech rods and the manual labor in creating them took Raeder a total of over 400 hours.
The Sea Anemone White collection consists of three end tables, two purely aesthetic sculptural pieces, and, at the heart of the collection, a tall ovoid standing mirror.
