In September, Dutch artistic duo Liet Heringa and Maarten van Kalsbeek will have their first solo show in the UK at the Vegas Gallery in London. The show will mostly feature the duo’s colourful and interpretive sculptures.
Made from a combination of polyurethane, resin and found materials such as flowers, feathers, cloth, porcelain and corals, the sculptures evoke imagery that is both beautiful and repulsive. Heringa and Kalsbeek allow for freedom in the interpretation of their work by remaining fairly vague on the meaning of these highly abstract pieces.
