Montreal-based artist Maskull Lasserre has turned everyday objects into intricate works of art. Simple things like doors, hangers and handles have been sculpted into vertebrates and skeletons.
His concept is stunning in the delicate precision and striking similarities to human anatomy. Ranging from hangers sculpted into bones, door corners as dead reptiles and even an ax handle that looks to be the spine of a reptile, the designs truly make us wonder how he does it.
Lasserre is taking the phrase recycled art quite literally and giving inanimate objects a second chance. You can see his upcoming exhibitions at Gallery Pierre-Francois Ouellette Art Contemporian, in Montreal until the end of January.
