Letter Head Advertising

This New Scrabble Ad Campaign Turns People into Letters Describing Them

This bizarre new Scrabble ad campaign is very definition of letter head advertising.

Okay, so I meant that in a literal sense, but how else would you describe these ads by American ad agency Pereira & O’Dell,? You certainly can't accuse the famous board game's makers of making a forgettable ad campaign. Each image features a person with a Scrabble piece superimposed over top of their face that comprises the first letter of a word in the corner of the image. Then there's a second Scrabble tile in the image to fill in a missing letter to describe the image. Do these images fill viewers with the urge to expand their vocabularies and argue over the use of proper nouns and acronyms? Time will tell.

If there's one thing these Scrabble ads prove, it's that advertising doesn't have to make a whole lot of sense in order to be memorable.
