This School Was Chosen for the Top Prize in British Architecure

Allford Hall Monaghan Morris (AHMM) has erected six new buildings as part of a pavilion extension that saw this school design win the most prestigious prize in British architecture. The Sterling Prize is awarded to "the building that has made the greatest contribution to the evolution of architecture in the past year," and AHMM achieved the distinguished honor.

The school added six new faculty buildings as well as two cultural centers that blends perfectly with the modernist architecture of the school's 1950s design. This expansion is also a timely one as it addresses a shortage of schools in England. When discussing the school's prize, AHMM Director Paul Monaghan said that a school's aesthetics change the way student's value themselves and their education.

A distinct elevated facade runs through the new buildings and adds both uniformity and a unique architectural element.
