Street Vendor-Inspired Sneakers

Nike's SB Dunk Low Street Hawker Style is a Nod to Food Vendors

The SB Dunk Low Street Hawker sneaker style is a Nike edition that was created by Guangzhou artist Jason Deng and it references Chinese street food vendors and the vibrant food they share. Just as there's a great amount of variety from vendor to vendor, the individual sneakers make up a mismatched pair that have unique designs of their own.

When it came to creating the design, Deng took inspiration from the dishes of six Chinese cities. While the light beige sneaker represents flour-based dishes like donuts and green bean soup, the more vibrantly colored sneaker takes cues from mutton soup served with a side of pita bread.

The SB Dunk Low Street Hawker edition is set to be launched by Nike ahead of the Chinese New Year.
