Satsuki Ohata Makes Slippers Using a Quick-Drying Mold of a Person's Feet

The Fondue Slipper by innovator Satsuki Ohata is cleverly designed to perfectly fit an individual's uniquely shaped feet. Each pair of Fondue Slippers is expertly shaped to a person's feet using a quick-drying mold that is reminiscent of cheese fondue.

Much like dipping a piece of bread into cheese fondue, these customized slippers are made by dipping a person's feet into a PVC liquid plastic. The foot is dipped up to the ankle in the liquid plastic so that the slipper covers most of the foot. The liquid plastic instantly forms to the person's foot leaving behind an identical plastic cast. After the mold has dried completely, it can be peeled back to reveal a plastic foot casing that makes for a high-quality and durable shoe. Because of the waterproof and slip-proof nature of these plastic slippers, they can be worn indoors or outdoors. Photo Credits: designboom, satsuki.co
