Lyft Launched the Safety Advisory Council to Address Concerns

Lyft formed a group, named the Safety Advisory Council, which will work to address passenger safety concerns. The company announced the new group through a blog post and stated that the group will work to inform the work that the company is doing and address the safety needs of Lyft Customers.

The Vice President of the company spoke about forming the Safety Advisory Council, "As the Lyft platform grows, we are seeing issues that are endemic in our society manifest on our platform and have an opportunity to address them."

The council will be comprised of individuals associated with RAINN, as well as law enforcement, and members of the awareness campaign, It's On Us. Through the forming of the council, it is clear that Lyft takes passenger safety concerns seriously, and is attempting to make the platform as safe as possible.
