The Sada Bike Folds into an Umbrella-Like Shape

The Sada Bike, conceived by Italian designer Gianluca Sada, is a folding bike that folds into an umbrella-shaped and umbrella-sized package. The Sada Bike is folded by simply pushing forward on the saddle. Once folded, the bike's 26-inch hubless wheels detach from it and aren't part of the folded package.

Gianluca Sada envisions the folding bike being carried around in an included backpack, with the two wheels acting as the backpack's supporting structure. Since the wheels don't have hubs or spokes, there would be enough room inside the backpack to carry various items along with the folded bike frame.

Sada has been working on the Sada Bike since 2008. He is currently looking for investors to help bring his current prototypes to production.
