Monsoon Rain-Inspired Garments

Royal College of Art Students Design Garments for 'Monsoon'

To celebrate British fashion brand Monsoon’s brand’s 40th anniversary, the company held a competition for fashion students at the Royal College of Art. The incredibly talented winners of the competition, first year students Jessica Edwards and Kyle Spires, won the chance to see their designs manufactured and featured in the limited-edition ‘Heritage’ collection.

The students visited Jaipur, India to oversee the production of their designs and the results were gorgeous. The student-designed additions to the collection take inspiration from "the vision of wood-blocked prints left out in the monsoon rains."

The delicate prints bring a sophistication to the simple, easy-to-wear nature of the garments, featuring vivid colors and patterning emblematic of many Indian designs. These beautiful, breezy garments would make the perfect loungewear in the summer.

Best of all, this collection is connected with the Monsoon Charity Trust, tying an element of philanthropy into fashion.
