Bearded Cord Branding

This Rope Packaging Concept Incorporates the Product into the Illustration

What's so delightful about this rope packaging is not simply its lovely illustrated style, but the way that it integrates the physical product into the whimsical imagery. Working with artist Annachiara Barindelli, Isabella de Felice created these thin boxes with beard-shaped diecuts that reveal the contents in a playful and imaginative manner.

You may not realize it at first, but every carton of cord is actually identical, with the cartoon character wearing the same blue plaid shirt and sporting the same red toque. What's different is the shade of his facial hair, which is precisely the color of the woven line inside. Bound into a coil, the arrangement of the rope produces a pattern that seems to embrace the face of the lumberjack mascot. This concept for rope packaging succeeds to engage the consumer with its creativity and humanizing identity.
