The Rodarte Spring 2012 Collection Takes Influence from Sleeping Beauty

Kate and Laura Mulleavy, the sister design duo behind Rodarte, told fashion journalists that the Rodarte Spring 2012 collection was very much influenced by two things: the classic Disney film, Sleeping Beauty and Vincent van Gogh.

Both sources of inspiration are easy to spot in the collection. From the ethereal feeling of the show, to the deep greens and purples that the Mulleavy sisters were so intrigued by in both the Disney movie and van Gogh's work, the Rodarte Spring 2012 collection is stunning and surprisingly haunting.

The collection is also extremely youthful. With stars like Elle and Dakota Fanning, Taylor Swift, and 15-year-old blogger Tavi Gevinson sitting in the front row, it is clear that the Rodarte Spring 2012 collection is going to show up on the red carpet adorning some of Hollywood's youngest up-and-comers.
