Is the Face of Human Interaction Powered By Motors?

Robotics have come a long way since the days of the cool robot in the TV show "Lost in Space." Major advances in robotics and synthetic materials allow us to create robots that are so life-like it's unreal. The modern robots can talk, they can record what they see with video camera eyes, and they can actually interact with humans in a way that has never been possible before.

The big debate among scientists now is whether or not a robot can look too human?

David Hanson, a robotics sculptor, believes that's nonsense. He says that putting human features to robots is the best way to engage real human beings because we're more comfortable with what we're familiar with.

For the record, the thought of interacting with a robot seems rather cold to me, but this sci-fi fantasy does have its proponents.
