The Ro Plastic Prize Seeks to Challenge Plastic Pollution

Created to inspire established and emerging designers, the Ro Plastic Prize has a simple premise — one must "reuse, recycle and reinvent plastic." The opportunity is launched through a partnership between Dezeen and curator Rossana Orlandi.

The contest is a testimony of the driving force in the contemporary design scene. That is, architects, creatives and other professionals are attempting to break free from the limiting opportunities of non-recyclable materials and are attempting to develop cutting-edge fabrication, organic matter, among other things, in order to address climate change and the depleting situation of the planet.

Promising to inspire "the next generation of design," the Ro Plastic Prize is "launched amid growing concern for plastic pollution" and grants winners with 10,000 euros. The contest is launched under Orlandi's GuiltlessPlastic initiative.
