The people of Reykjavik, Iceland, woke up to a startling view of Reykjavik Invasion by Sig Vicious.
The Reykjavik Invasion is designer Sig Vicious’ installation of Star Wars characters taking siege of the northern city. Vicious himself is based in Reykjavik and it is here that he creates 10 images that shows viewers X-Wings, Snowspeeders, AT-ATs and other characters from the Star Wars movies taking over the city. This intergalactic battle comes off as being more real with black and white images.
Vicious tends to toy with pop culture references, mixing it with luminous colors and typography. Reykjavik Invasion by Sig Vicious illustrates a well-designed set with a sense of legitimacy, making it seem as if Reykjavik really is under attack.
