Red, White & Drew Barrymore in Harper's Bazaar

Forget about addictive interactive election polls and make sure to register to vote online before the registration deadline. That’s what Hollywood beauty Drew Barrymore, who is featured on a patriotic cover of the November issue of Bazaar, would like you to do.

Even though Drew Barrymore advises you should register to vote online for the candidate you believe in, she proudly wore her support for Barack Obama with a one-off Marc Jacobs tee that reads ‘TIME FOR A CHANGE’ in bold Jacobsean font.

"It’s the first time I’ve really admitted I’m a Democrat," Drew says.

She explains why she chooses Obama, "For example, when I heard him speak about a gay person never having to sit outside the hospital room with their loved one sick inside, I burst into tears because so many people I care about are homosexual and it was profound to have someone be sensitive to that. That’s the kind of world I want to live in, where we’re not holding our own principles in judgment above someone or against someone."

As for John McCain, Drew explained her mixed feelings.

"He is a good person and he does care, but he has voted against things that are shocking as far as people’s liberties and economic choices. I study everyone’s voting record because they say one thing and do another."

"I think people realize the intention of the choice," she says of McCain choosing Sarah Palin as a running mate.
