Reflective Bike Paint

Volvo LifePaint Temporarily Illuminates Bicycles in the Dark of Night

A reflective bike can go a long way in terms of cyclist safety -- something multinational car company Volvo is trying to help with. Volvo LifePaint is a temporary spray paint that's invisible in the daylight, but illuminates bicycles in the nighttime and reflects light emitted from cars.

In addition to being used on bicycles, the product can also be used safely on clothing and bags to increase visibility in the dark. The paint will only last about a week, or can be washed off at any point without affecting the garment or vehicle. Bike shops around London are currently carrying the highly reflective bike spray.

To address the issue of cyclists being killed or injured in road accidents, Volvo previously released the Volvo V40, which features an external airbag to protect pedestrians.
