RECO Uses High-Quality Recycled Leather for Its Handbags

RECO is an up-and-coming sustainable handbag brand founded by Bea Recoder. Recoder uses her experiences working at luxury fashion houses like Balenciaga, Chloé, Paco Rabanne, and Byredo to fuel her creative inspiration. Recoder’s past works saw her designing handbags made from recycled waste from other luxury brands. Now, the designer has launched her own company to distribute her creations in larger volumes.

RECO’s latest capsule, ‘Venus,’ comprises multiple handbag styles, including popular designs like the ‘Didi Tarta’ and ‘Piti Tarta.’ The bags come in various shapes, including a triangular handbag and a rectangle shoulder purse. The campaign uses cloud and sky motifs as a backdrop, spotlighting models who showcase RECO’s designs.

Recoder emphasizes the inspiration behind her collections, stating: "Overproduction and dormant inventory are two main issues resulting from the way that fashion functions today. RECO seeks to offer customers new alternatives at a fair price without compromising on material quality and craftsmanship and to me, this is the most relevant type of luxury item — one that is produced ethically, responsibly and is limited in quantity."
