The city council of Zurich introduces a new for cyclists to enjoy a cup of coffee and some pastry while still on their bike at the Rathaus Cafe. They have installed a set of wooden docking stations that comes complete with a table. Cyclists are able to ride up and secure their bikes in a slot while using it as a convenient seat on the Rathaus Cafe's terrace.
Located next to the Limmat river, the Rathaus Cafe is a popular spot for locals and visitors alike. The bicycle 'drive-in,' which has been dubbed Velokafi, is sure to make it even more popular.
The Rathaus Cafe's participation is part of the city council’s Stadtverkehr 2025 program, which focuses on the cycling community in order to improve the infrastructure and reduce traffic flow.
