Railway Landscape Artwork

Katharina Grosse Provides Much Entertainment for Train Passengers

This railway landscape artwork by Katharina Grosse sees the potential beauty in areas that people pass by when riding on the trains. Instead of just leaving these spaces bare, she's updated them with some vibrant colors to keep people entertained.

The project is being done in Philadelphia, with a total of seven installations being done for the project. According to DesignBoom, "framed through the windows of the moving train, the large-scale public artwork generates a real-time landscape painting that explores shifting scale, perspective and the passage of time." What's great about the work is that people don't have to go to a museum or institution to see it, but can enjoy it on their daily commute. It's also pretty hard to miss considering the coloring is done in a bright pink shade. Photo Credits: designboom, katharinagrosse
