Conceptual Moon Phase Menswear

The Rafael Kouto Fall/Winter 2014 Lookbook is Lunar-Themed

Entitled "Drag me to the after hour on the dark side of the moon 14/1", the
Rafael Kouto Fall/Winter 2014 collection is lunar-themed. Inspired by the evolution of moon phases, the conceptual menswear line highlights moon-patterned textiles, sculptural silhouettes and avant-gared headwear accessories that are often shaped to resemble the moon at its various stages.

In creating this collection, Rafael Kouto experimented with the "diffraction of light, from the deepest black to a blinding white". The talented designer's end result is a line of conceptual garments that double as pieces of wearable art.

This imaginative collection is featured in a lookbook by Adventice Editions art directors who worked alongside Bonaventure and Niederhauser for the catalogs concept and realization. The monochromatic image series features model Claude Baltensperger who takes on the changing spirit of the moon itself.
