Safety-Focused Race Cars

These Formula 1 Race Car Concepts Reimagine the Design of Vehicles

Although race cars are indeed designed for speed, they're only as great as possible if they're also safe, so these race car concepts focus on making the vehicles more secure. Designed by Olcay Tuncay Karabulut, the Formula 1 2017 race cars envision cockpits that are fully closed to prevent injuries from being sustained from flying components.

New rules have been put forth from Formula 1 in order to inhibit damage and injury during races. Karabulut takes these changes in stride by imagining a series of vehicles that reflect a focus on safety and performance.

With the new rules set to be enforced come 2017, these race car concepts push to show how we'll likely see vehicles evolve and how the improvements could be made.
