Quixotic Lux Esalare is a Ballet on Acid

Kansas City isn’t usually thought of as the theater center of the world -- by most people. However, the Quixotic Lux Esalare show is evidence to the contrary. Quixotic, a performance group founded in 2004 by Anthony Magliano and Keelan Whitmore, put on dazzling shows. The latest of which was Quixotic Lux Esalare, with costume design by Sarah Nelsen.

Maybe Kansas City is going through some kind of renaissance, or maybe this is just a midwest fluke. Either way, the pictures are only a clue as to the quality of the show. The photos are by Philip Koenig and Nicole Reinertson.
