Gourmet Airplane Menus

The New Qatar Airways Menu is Revamped for Business Class Flyers

Qatar Airways teamed up with globally established chefs Nobu Matsuhisa and Vineet Bhatia to elevate the dining experience for airplane passengers. The new menu was unveiled just last month.

The items on the menu include some fancy bubbly drinks like Billecart Salmon Brut champagne and Met James Cluer. These carefully selected beverages were hand-picked by Qatar Airways' Master of Wine, who chose the bubbly beverages to accommodate for high altitude-altered palates.

This menu includes braised lamb shank with chickpea and saffron sauce, parsley mashed potato and roasted root vegetables, as well as Arabic spiced prawns with machboos sauce, rice and fried onions and nuts. With dishes like these, airplane food might become a thoroughly sought-after meal. The dishes were challenging to create due to the inconsistency of ingredients from various locations in different countries.
