Water Purifying Bowls

The Puur Zuiveren by Lukas Jager Cleans Water Easily and Inexpensively

Purifying water can be a challenge on many different levels, all of which are addressed by the Puur Zuiveren, which means ‘pure purifying' in Dutch. A simple bowl made out of ceramic, the Puur Zuiveren provides a simple solution to an often complicated problem. Instead of fancy technology and top-of-the-line materials, it purifies water in an almost natural way.

Developed by Dutch designer Lukas Jager, the Puur Zuiveren is a combination of clay and sawdust that has been fired at 850 degrees Celsius. Burned away during the firing, the sawdust leaves behind pores that help facilitate the purifying process. With the addition of colloidal silver, remaining traces of bacteria are killed. Easy to use and inexpensive, the Puur Zuiveren could make a big difference in developing countries.
