Rogue Ales Launched a Purple Beer to Raise Awareness of Sea Star Extinction

This attention-gabbing purple beer hopes to raise awareness of Sea Star Wasting Syndrome which is making star fish along the U.S Pacific Coast an endangered species. Launched by Rogue Ales & Spirits, the purple beer is called 'Wasted Sea Star.'

John Maier is Rogue's Brewmaster who created this beer using purple corn nectar to give it a truly colorful look and to represent the species at risk.

The Sea Star Wasting Syndrome is the largest marine animal disease that has ever been recorded. Both the beer and the sea stars call Oregon home so a portion of the proceeds from the beer sales will go directly to research for Sea Star Wasting Syndrome at PISCO labs.
