Elaborate Paper Pooch Installations

The Gerald Project Features Hundreds of Perky Puppy Sculptures

Since its conception in 2008, The Gerald Project has produced over 120 paper puppy sculptures by some of the world's most influential artists. Each of the dog sculptures is based on a design called 'Gerald' first created by British design studio lazerian. The Gerald design caught on, drawing over 105 artists to try their hands at creating a unique version of Gerald including Oliver Hibert, Tatiana Arocha, Insa and Stanley Chow.

Gerald the puppy sculpture is a proud and streamlined canine with a pert tail and a curious nose, depicting man's best friend in all its cuteness and beauty. Different patterns have been used by the various artists including florals and polka dots, giving each Gerald sculpture a unique and original flavor.

These sculptures demonstrate perfectly how the artistic community can come together to produce something bigger than could ever have been imagined. Who would have thought that one paper dog could turn into a collection exhibited during New York Design Week? It just goes to show that fads are often unpredictable.
